Write For Decoded Science

Are you a dedicated science journalist? Do you have a degree or other credential in a science-based field? Do you love sharing your knowledge with others? If you fit into any of these categories, consider applying to write for Decoded Science. Our standards are admittedly high, but it is absolutely necessary for the site to confirm the expertise of each writer in order to maintain the integrity of the site.

To apply: Contact us at writers@decodedscience.com with the following:

1. Links to your previously published content on science-based topics,
OR clips from pieces published offline.
Anything in the sciences is fine, from Astronomy to Zoology.

No clips? That’s OK – We’ll judge your writing ability from the rest of your email. Please do not send an unpublished writing sample as part of your application.

2. A list of your qualifications in your field. Education, experience, etc. You can provide this information in the form of a bio, to save time later, or just attach your resume. Our focus is on topic expertise, not on writing credentials.

3. A brief paragraph to pitch your first article idea. Decoded Science will, at times, suggest articles, but you are free to choose your own topics. You will need to run article ideas by us, just to make sure that the article will be a good fit for the site, but as long as an article is science-based, it is unlikely to be declined.
